I am excited since I met my goal of making Google payout in 3 months this time. I was getting slightly concerned since I had 4 days without any revenue but that all changed Monday. I am now safe and should get a check next month.
My overall impressions and revenue is down this month since I have essentially taken the entire month off with my illness and golf trip. It has been difficult getting back into the swing of things but I am going to give it a try and start pushing it again. I had gone 7 months straight without any sort of break (only a day or two) so I also think some burn out played a role.
However, it is nice to know that there is a baseline level of traffic upon which I can count. Now I want to develop more content and more traffic so that I can increase the baseline to a higher level along with the passive income. Let me tell you that the passive part of the income has been nice but still is not enough to life off. It is going to take quite a bit of hard work to earn meaningful revenue.
If you remember from reading this blog, the sense that I get from several other sites is that it will take 2 years to really start to take off. I am sure that has something to do with building up traffic, links, and search engine rankings. I will be curious to see what can happen in that time frame, but I need to get back into the swing of things. I think that will be easier once the days get lighter as well. I don't know that I have seasonal affective disorder, but I do notice that I am more tired in winter.
I hope to be able to again reach Google AdSense payout in another 3 months (Feb, Mar, Apr) and then start making payout in 2 months' time, then monthly. Obviously, I will have to spend some more time writing content and getting traffic. It will take a lot of work, but I think that I can finally get back into it again now.
Thanks to everyone who reads my blog. I appreciate it.

Congratulations on your payout! Once I made it in three months, I found it really sped up after that.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ruth. It is good to know that the pace will increase. Right now, I am just trying to increase traffic. I need to get back to adding content. I think February will be better.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Kidgas! The biggest hurdle is making payout the first time. Afer that, it gets better.
ReplyDeleteYou seem to be doing all of the right things to make it happen quicker.
That is good to know. I wonder at times if I am doing things properly.
ReplyDeleteKidgas, sorry to hear that you were sick, I was wondering why I hadn't seen you around at Blog Engage. What a great way to make a come back by getting your Adsense payout. Good for you! Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ileane. I was sick, then on a golf trip with poor internet access and little time. Now that I am back, I hope to be able to get back into the swing of things.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Once you get to the $100 a month mark, you really get a second wind as the "hey this works" reality sets in. I think the second most exciting time for me was once I started seeing the occasional $10-15 day once a month. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteMaster Dayton,
ReplyDeleteThanks. Yes, I am looking forward to that double digit day. I can imagine that there is quite an incentive to keep going once you are getting the monthly payment. Congrats to you on getting to that level.
Hope you are ok now. Adsense is still the gold mine for any blogger but not many earn much
ReplyDeleteIt was very hard to reach first payment threshold. It took me more than 6 months to get my first payment. Its great now, I started to get almost every month now. Adsense is great sourse of revenue if you are honest and your content are good enough.
ReplyDeleteI'm started icttrends and not yet implemented Adsense to it. After I build up bit more content and traffic, it will be right time to use adsense in my blog too!
Congratulation! I've run Adsense for a few months but still haven't reached paypment threshold yet.
ReplyDeleteIt's great if you can share your experience.
Thank you all for your comments. Most of my AdSense revenue has been coming from HubPages and Xomba.
